Reviving Deadball Era Baseball
Welcome to the Jersey City Skeeters, the only early 20th-century throwback baseball club in the U.S. The club is a proud member of the Vintage Base Ball Association (VBBA), which has husbanded the revival of baseball in its late 19th-century form among several hundred competitive and recreational teams across the country. Building on this momentum, the Jersey City Skeeters are recreating the classical deadball era of the sport in the early 20th century, when the game's greatest legends reigned, when baseball enveloped American popular culture, and when the Major and Minor Leagues took shape. Perched between the older and modern forms of the sport, the Jersey City Skeeters compete in both vintage and modern baseball leagues.
